GBX Music Fest
Student Manager
What Is GBX?
GBX Music Fest is Glenbard District 87s Commercial Music Festival, showcasing original music made by student artists from all four Glenbard Schools. It is held each year in a 1600-seat auditorium and features intricate lighting, fog machines, standing room only in the pit, festival merch, and a guest artist headlining performer. The first annual GBX Music Fest was held in 2022. It featured 10 headlining student acts from all the Glenbard schools. In 2024, GBX was selected to represent District 87 at the Illinois Music Education Conference (IMEC) with the goal of inspiring other schools to incorporate something similar into their curriculum.
Student Manager Responsibilities
Student Managers for the 2024 IMEC Performance were selected from each of the four Glenbard schools, with six students selected in total. Student Managers are expected to manage technical rehearsals, load in and out of the Peoria Civic Center, Merch and logo creation and sales, and serve as liaisons between the student audience and music faculty.
